S.D. Sabha Barnala was established in the year 1914 and its general body was registered on 24th January 1925. S.D. Sabha Has incorporated numerous achievements since then. It has promoted many reputed Schools and college by laying the foundation stone of the first education institution A Primary School in 1942. S.D. Sabha High school for boys and girls in 1945-46, S.D. College Bamala In 1955. N.M.S.D. High School for girls in 1972. S.D. Senior Sec. School Barnala in 1992. Sh. Darbari Lal Tandon S.D. Public School in 1993. N.M.S.D. Sen. Sec. School in 2001 and initiating science group for+l & +2 in April 2003 in S.D. Sr. Sec. School. Under the dynamic propelling leadership of Sh. Shiv Darshan Kumar Sharma Advocate, Gen Secretary & Sh. Panna Lal. President of the Sabha. The society has grown from its humble beginnings to an organization of great repute and has conic to occupy a place of prestige and prominence. The S.D. Sabha has played a pioneering role in the field of education for almost seven decades. The Schools and college that it has established reflect the efforts of the society to provide quality education in consonance with traditions of Sanatan Dharama. It has spent about Rs. 1 crore for construction of the new building of S.D. Sen Sec. School, D.L Tandon Public School and S.D. High School. The Sabha has constructed a shopping complex in Handiaya Bazar, Barnala to support expenditure on education & purchased land for S.D. Sabha Group of education Institutions. It has also planned to renovate the building of N.M.S.D. Girls Sen Sec. School. The work on the same is in progress now. S.D. Sabha celebrates Shri Krishan Janam Ashtami & other religious occasions every year with great favor & devotion.
Along with all this. It has also earned a commendable record of achievement in all spheres of student activity. In Sports the student have won District level football and cricket tournament for the last two years. NSS camps have been organized at different places for noble causes such as blood donation, Tree plantation, slum cleanliness etc. The special feature of all the Institutions run by the society is the blend of high education standards with moral values, which assist one in accomplishing the true goal of education.
It has launched S.D. Sabha Institute of Technology Barnala which is of high profile & great value to the area.
